Oslo offers a variety of hotels in all price categories, as well as bed-and-breakfasts and even high-end hostels. It isn't easy to find reasonably priced accommodations, but some chains, such as the Rainbow hotels, are at least moderate. Check out the Coch Pensjonat, at the back of the royal palace, for one of the least expensive overnight stays in a prime location. Most hotels offer special weekend and summer rates, which may be about 30% lower than during the week. You should always book in advance. Very few hotels in Oslo are air conditioned. If you are sensitive to heat, you may want to inquire about air-conditioning when you reserve a room.
