Los Cabos as a whole specializes in high-end hotels, but with the burgeoning number of resorts being built in the area, some bargains can be found in all-inclusive resorts. In general, the beachfront hotels along the Corridor and on Playa Medano (Cabo San Lucas) are the most costly.
It's probably best to stay in the location that best fits your interests: Choose San Lucas if you like to party, fish or be within walking distance of a beach with calm, swimmer-friendly water.
Choose San Jose if you want a quieter time and more of a Mexican flavor.
Choose a Corridor resort if you're looking for quiet seclusion away from both towns and an all-inclusive-type experience. Some resorts offer luxurious suites with custom furnishings, as well as a spa and world-class dining. These resorts typically have the most function space and family-friendly programs and are suitable to the wedding market.
Unless you have a car, getting to San Jose or Cabo San Lucas from the Corridor usually requires a taxi.
Be aware that the bars in Cabo San Lucas are very loud, and the sound carries to downtown hotels. On Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and three-day holiday weekends such as Labor Day and Memorial Day, hotels are packed—advance reservations are a must.
