Cartagena has a very complete selection of hotels. El Centro, the Walled City, has two large hotels in restored convents and monasteries that offer five-star accommodation and services, and several boutique-hotels also have sprung up, offering luxury accommodations in restored 17th- and 18th-century houses. Additionally, there are a variety of bed-and-breakfasts and hostel facilities in Centro and in the adjacent neighborhood of Getsemani. In Bocagrande and El Laguito are a number of international beach hotels, and there are numerous smaller hotels that cater to Colombian tourists. Availability can be scarce Christmas through mid-January and during Easter Week.
