Hotel du Palais is the palace hotel of the Pays Basque, a resplendent throwback to an opulent era. A symbol of imperial grandeur, the ornate white and maroon structure was built as a summer residence for Empress Eugenie and Napoleon III and then rebuilt as a hotel around the turn of the last century.
