Because of heavy hurricane damage, Beauvoir is undergoing extensive renovations. The main house was badly damaged, and outbuildings were completely destroyed. However, as the last home of Confederate President Jefferson Davis, it retains historic value, and conservators are salvaging what they can of the Davis memorabilia and papers.
