Bodden Town has managed to avoid much of the development that has markedly changed most of the west end of Grand Cayman. Bright and colorful houses feature fretwork verandas and pretty gardens. In September 2004, Hurricane Ivan affected Bodden Town badly and drastically, but the town has rebuilt itself with only small scars left over.
