Cancun nightlife is the city's claim to fame, and many bars, clubs and discos, especially those at the resort hotels in the Hotel Zone, stay open until dawn during the spring break season. Other alternatives include party cruises on the water and lower-key jazz clubs, such as Roots in Cancun City.
Aside from the night clubs, Cancun's entertainment options are limited to the folkloric shows offered by some all-inclusive hotels, impromptu street performances in malls and near the Party Zone, and the nightly Mayan-themed shows held in Xcaret, south of Cancun. Spectator sports are limited to occasional soccer and baseball games, and bullfights.
