St Vincent & Grenadines Entertainment Guide

St Vincent & Grenadines Nightlife

These islands—including St. Vincent, where the majority of the country's population lives—are fairly quiet, and most nightlife and entertainment centers around the hotels. Visitors can try their luck at the blackjack tables at the Emerald Valley Resort & Casino in Penniston Valley (3 mi/5 km north of Kingstown on the western coast; phone 784-456-7824). Or, trot over to Canouan for chic gaming at Donald Trump's elegant casino, which sits high on a hill and is part of Raffles Resort.

Most of St. Vincent's other entertainment is geared to the weekends, though most nightspots are open, if less active, during the week. Nightspots to consider include Aquatic Club, across from the Young Island Resort; the Attic, a jazz club and sports bar; Vee Jay's Rooftop Diner and Pub, which has karaoke on Wednesday and Friday nights; the Iguana Club, open Wednesday-Saturday; and the Marcomay Club, open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Bequia has the best nightlife scene in the Grenadines, much of it catering to the visiting yachters. The action is centered in the hotels and bars near the harbor in Port Elizabeth. Friday and Saturday offer the best chance for seeing live music. On the other islands, expect things to be very quiet after the sun goes down, though Mustique does have Basil's Bar, a somewhat famous over-water watering hole. Will you see David Bowie or the Duchess of York doing the limbo there? You never know.
