This hotel is a national monument that rivals the neighboring Staatsoper for tourist attention. Under enthusiastic management, the Sacher continues to improve. In 2002, it was totally shut down for a makeover in recognition of its 125th anniversary. Every room and suite was thoroughly refurbished. The rooms and hallways fascinate with a collection of more than 1,000 antiques and original oil paintings. The property gleams with elegance.
