Each spring and fall, 400,000 migratory birds representing 300 species gather at Oak Hammock to flutter their feathers. There are lovely walking trails that meander along the nesting grounds. Keep an eye out for the many ground squirrels living in mounds along the way. Open year-round, although most birds are gone during the winter freeze-up. Interesting interpretive and educational programs year-round. Open July-October daily 10 am-8 pm, November-June daily 10 am-4:30 pm. Can$5 adults (family rate of Can$18). Phone 204-467-3299.
