Accommodations can be found throughout the city, although there's a higher concentration in the downtown and waterfront areas. These hotels (mostly international chains) have great views of the harbor and city, which, of course, is reflected in the price. Parnell, near downtown, has a number of hotels, motels and quality guesthouses offering good access to the city and to the Domain, Auckland's largest inner-city park. Accommodations in Ponsonby are more understated and include a number of bed-and-breakfasts close to Ponsonby Road's cafes and shops as well as a quality boutique hotel or two. Devonport also offers quality bed-and-breakfasts. Auckland is a busy summer city, so reservations are highly recommended November-March.
