This resort area attracts people from Tucson and Phoenix, who drive down to spend long weekends. The coast is the main attraction, and the Seri Indians who live north of town sell ironwood carvings in the market. There's also a small Seri museum. Isla Tiburon (Shark Island), off the coast, is a wildlife refuge. You can hire a boat to get there, but beware of dangerous currents in the channel between Tiburon and the mainland. There are not many hotels in Bahia Kino, but RV parks abound. 200 mi/320 km south of Nogales.
