Hotels in Beijing are concentrated in three main areas: Jianguomenwai (1 mi/2 km east of Tiananmen Square), the northeastern Third Ring Road and the Wangfujing area (east of Tiananmen Square near the Forbidden City). The high season in Beijing is summer and autumn. During September and October many of the hotels are fully occupied, so it's wise to make reservations early. Some hotels offer airport pickup for a fee ranging from 100 yuan to 450 yuan. Check to see whether reservations for transportation are required.
