Bellows Falls is best-known as the home of the Green Mountain Flyer ride: This 26-mi/42-km route, which runs late June to mid-October, allows visitors to take in the scenic countryside while riding in historic rail cars pulled by a locomotive from the 1930s. While in Bellows Falls, look for the Native American petroglyphs along the riverbank below Vilas Bridge, and stop at the Adams Old Stone Gristmill Museum, which displays antique farm implements, milling machinery and railroad memorabilia. 130 mi/210 km southeast of Burlington.
