As both a major tourist destination and convention site, Chicago offers a wide selection of fine hotels catering to both business and leisure travelers. Sightseeing is convenient from most of the downtown hotels. However, if your itinerary includes shopping along the Magnificent Mile, we suggest you select a hotel north of Madison. Because so many conventions are held in Chicago, you should make reservations as far in advance as possible.

The Fairmont Chicago
200 N Columbus Dr, Chicago, IL
Set within a vast residential, commercial and retail complex, this structure overlooks Grant Park and Lake Michigan. The hotel is one of the best deluxe values in Chicago, and it continues to fill in the gap between the high-end Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton and more-commercial Hyatt Regency, InterC... Read Entire Review »
Four Seasons Hotel Chicago
120 E Delaware Place, Chicago, IL
Situated at North Michigan Avenue, near North Side, across from The Whitehall, atop Bloomingdale's and the 900 North Michigan complex, this hotel retains its pre-eminence here, superlative in almost every category. The latest news is the renovation sweeping through the accommodations and public area... Read Entire Review »
InterContinental Chicago
505 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL
One of the more impressive historic hotels here, this place is a tourist attraction all its own, with sightseers occasionally rubbernecking through the public areas on self-guided audio tours. This is also one of the busiest commercial hotels. Thanks to its excellent service standards and variety of... Read Entire Review »
Omni Chicago Hotel
676 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL
Located at East Huron Street, in the heart of the Magnificent Mile, is, despite the growing competition, Chicago's sweetest (nearly) all-suite hotel. However, one room per floor dilutes its official all-suite standings. Still, this place moves in a more sophisticated orbit than Doubletree Suites or... Read Entire Review »
Park Hyatt Chicago
800 N Michigan Ave, Chicago, IL
Located opposite the Water Tower, taking up most of the lower floors of the 67-story Park Tower, built on the site of the original Park Hyatt, this top-notch business and leisure address shares the building with elite retail stores and elegant condominiums. It is the flagship of Hyatt's premier Park... Read Entire Review »
The Peninsula Chicago
108 E Superior St, Chicago, IL
This hotel competes head-to-head with the Four Seasons and the Park Hyatt serving as a shimmering example of indulgence, though its service standards fall short of expectations. Compared with the staff and levels of service at its Beverly Hills sibling, the crew here appears at times bumbling and in... Read Entire Review »
Renaissance Chicago Hotel
1 W Wacker Dr, Chicago, IL
Located next to the colorful contemporary Monaco and across the river from the striking Corn Cobs and less impressive Westin River North, this property was once as refined as white sugar, but these days it appears to be yellowing a little around the edges. In spite of its age and prim, traditional,... Read Entire Review »
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel
160 E Pearson St, Chicago, IL
Situated at Michigan Avenue, near North Side, this is a Four Seasons hotel, not part of the Ritz-Carlton chain, and, like the Four Seasons here, it is a top-flight property commandeering part of a multipurpose building-in this case, the 10th through 31st floors of Water Tower Place. One of the city'... Read Entire Review »
Swissotel Chicago
323 E Wacker Dr, Chicago, IL
Located at Illinois Center, next door to the larger, bustling Hyatt and across the river from the lovely contemporary Sheraton, this Swiss treat is a standout when it comes to service and lovely accommodations. In fact this is one of the best-run commercial hotels in the Windy City, competing head t... Read Entire Review »
The Whitehall Hotel
105 E Delaware Place, Chicago, IL
Situated in a prime location for business and pleasure, close to Rush Street nightlife, this hotel lies opposite the top-flight Four Seasons. Ambassador East Hotel
1301 N State Pkwy, Chicago, IL
Located at East Goethe Street, near North Side, this hotel lacks its former glory, but remains a relatively dignified Gold Coast hotel. That said, more choose it for the location and modest rates than any modicum of style. It is removed somewhat from the hustle and bustle of the Magnificent Mile. A... Read Entire Review »

The Drake
140 E Walton Place, Chicago, IL
This place competes with the InterContinental and Palmer House Hilton for the honor of Chicago's most lavish historic hotel.
