Accommodations range from deluxe, international hotels in Kinshasa to dismal dumps. Many hotels in the larger cities outside of Kinshasa are clean and more than adequate, but in smaller towns and villages, there are very few hotels that will meet the requirements of most Western travelers. There are many gravel pits along the rural roads where you can set up a tent, and most larger cities have hotels that allow campers to set up on their grounds. Staying in missionary accommodations is also an option.
