Company Overview for Country Inns & Suites By Carlson
Country Inns & Suites began in 1987 and is a member of Carlson Hotels Worldwide (Radisson, Regent, Park and Park Plaza). The midprice chain emphasizes a homelike feel with an interior design that features hardwood flooring, a front porch and lobby fireplace. The residential feel and friendly service of Country Inns & Suites has served the chain well as it’s maintained a 98% guest return rate for the past 14 years.
Amenities vary slightly by location, but guests can expect a complimentary breakfast, in-room hair dryer, coffeemaker, iron and ironing board and weekday morning newspaper. All of the properties are located near restaurants, local attractions or business centers. Most Country Inns & Suites also offer a fitness center, swimming pool, whirlpool and coin-operated laundry facilities.
The Gold Points Plus program allows frequent guests to earn points toward free stays at all Carlson Hotels Worldwide brands, frequent flier miles with more than 20 airlines, as well as many participating restaurants and retailers including T.G.I. Friday’s.
Country Inns & Suites also offers a book-lending program called “Book It and Return.” Each location has an in-house library that loans books to guests on the pledge they will return the book during their next stay. Every time a book is returned, Country Inns & Suites donates five dollars to ProLiteracy Worldwide. So far, the company has contributed more than US$60,000.
