Cypress Hills Provincial Park Guide Overview

This oasislike park has been popular for centuries and boasts the distinction of being the first and only park shared by two provinces in Canada. Located in the prairie country, Cypress Hills is a pretty area of small lakes, streams and green hills that offers fishing, boating, camping and hiking. Wildlife includes 200 species of birds as well as deer, elk, moose and beaver. The natural alpine flora and fauna are unique to the park, including 14 types of wild orchids. History buffs will find the park's many archaeological and historic sites intriguing, including the remains of an encampment thought to be 7,000 years old. 220 mi/355 km southeast of Calgary.
