At an altitude of 2,850 meters, at the foot of Argentina's 6,962-meter Cerro Aconcagua, this is perhaps Chile's most celebrated ski resort—but it is by no means its finest.
Opened in 1949, the featureless, though brightly painted, six-story rectangular main building sits along the stunningly blue Laguna del Inca. It is flanked by eight freestanding, multiple-occupancy cabanas of which six are open to the public.
