This hotel ranks with the Sheraton as Rio's most complete resort, but its location is not convenient for tourists, a 20-minute taxi ride from Copacabana and 10-15 minutes from Ipanema in the Leblon area.
Shrouded behind the green-covered hills that hug the city, the property sits across the street from the beach and by large residential and commercial buildings. It is ostensibly a convention hotel, though Carnival-goers might appreciate the calm location far from Ipanema and Copacabana.
