Between the azure Caribbean and Laguna Nichupte, this property may fail to compete with the deluxe JW Marriott and Ritz-Carlton hotels, but it remains a fine example of a contemporary outpost for well-heeled adults. It sits in the shadow of competitors. Nevertheless, it manages to provide savvy families and couples with good value: The JW is newer, and the Ritz is more opulent.
