The 112-ft-/34-m-high glass atrium in the Science Court is the focal point of the museum through which visitors can enter and explore the four major exhibition areas. Children can make rocket fuel, watch chicks hatch or go on a molecular treasure hunt. The Air and Space Gallery houses special exhibits about space exploration and the history of air travel. With a movie screen towering seven stories high, the IMAX Theater shows 2-D and 3-D themed films. Call to find out what special exhibits are on display. Weekday afternoons are usually the best time to visit, as mornings are often crowded with school children on field trips. Daily 10 am-5 pm.
