Professional Review
Situated midway between Lafayette and New Orleans, this house-hotel is 45 miles south of Baton Rouge. The structure may not be the grandest or the largest, but it is certainly one of the South's finest examples of 19th-century Greek Revival architecture. Guests here actually sleep in the 21-room mansion or the Charlet House, the early 19th-century home of a riverboat captain that is just across the tree-line patio, unlike at many plantation houses, where they are relegated to servants' quarters
