Mainamati is a historic Buddhist site with attractions from the 7th-12th centuries. The draws include the Salban Vihara (a monastery) and Kotila Mura (another set of ruins with some wonderful Buddhist stupas, 3 mi/5 km north of Mainamati). Visit the museum near Salban Vihara to see artifacts excavated from the area. 40 mi/65 km southeast of Dhaka.
