Separated from the San Diego Convention Center by its main competitor, the equally unwieldy Marriott Hotel and Marina, adjacent to Seaport Village and Embarcadero Marina, this hotel has been busier than ever since the completion of the Seaport Tower in 2003. It is the largest hotel between San Francisco and Cancun. More engaging than the Marriott, it is a well-run deluxe convention hotel, but individuals will feel like a lost toddler at Disneyland when conventions are in town.
