Margarita Island has no lack of lodging options, with some 60 posadas (small inns underscoring personalized attention), cabins or apartments complete with kitchens, as well as hotels ranging from small, basic offers to five-star luxury hotels with all the corresponding services. For the posadas, the best bet is to book directly since travel agencies rarely handle them. However, if you are looking for a major hotel, going through a travel agency usually will usually save you money. The principal hotels are concentrated in the zone between Porlamar and Pampatar and around Playa El Agua. Those at Playa El Yaque and on Coche Island are directed primarily toward windsurfers and kitesurfers.
