Situated in a lovely wooded setting in the Kingsmill development opposite Busch Gardens, this property combines a contemporary, six-story building of ivory hue with a three-story wing. The polished staff greets arrivals in the sunlit lobby, where a shiny tile floor and scattered conversation areas, one with a fireplace, enhance the professional aura.
The Harvest Grille restaurant specializes in American fare at all meals, and the Williamsburg Cafe serves sandwiches, pizzas and Starbucks coffees. Pitchers sports bar features multiple TVs
and a pool table.
Fitness-minded guests take advantage of the heated indoor-outdoor pool, whirlpool and saunas, two tennis courts, pair of racquetball courts and exercise room. An electronic games room keeps kids occupied.
A gift shop/newsstand is a convenient extra, as is free parking. A concierge helps steer guests to the area's myriad of attractions.
Conference facilities are extensive, with 40 rooms and a capacity of more than 1,000. A business center augments, as does wireless Internet access in the public areas.
The standardized guest rooms with dark woods and spreads seem somewhat lackluster for this historical area, but are serviceable for sightseers and conventioneers. All have pile carpeting, desks with chairs and high-speed Internet access, two phones with voice mail and dial-up data ports, TVs, king or double beds, mirrored closets, coffeemakers, irons and ironing boards, and complimentary newspapers. A few rooms have balconies, and studios and suites add wet bars. Some suites boast living rooms, full kitchens and spiral staircases. Baths have attractive marble-topped wooden vanities but are nonetheless a bit cramped.
This is the most professional of the chain links in town, although it lacks the intimacy and landscaped charm of its nearest competitor, the Crowne Plaza Fort Magruder.
