When this Empire State Building look-alike was completed in 1956, it was the tallest building in Latin America. Its 43 stories tower above the Historic Center. The restaurants and observation deck on the top and windowed stories just beneath afford good views of the city on a clear day. The tower, which is owned by Seguros Latinoamerica—a large insurance firm—now features a museum on the 38th floor. The museum is small but has many fascinating photos on display. Daily 9 am-10 pm. M$50 adults (includes museum admission). Lazaro Cardenas 2 (at Madero, Bellas Artes metro station), Centro Historico, Mexico City. Phone 5518-7423. http://www.ociopuro.org/torre.
