This property appears to be miscast, for it is a strictly business hotel in the lively heart of the Theater District. It even encompasses a historic former theater, which now seats 700, mainly for business productions. In the block-long lobby, a row of huge neoclassical canvases in eye-popping hues contrasts boldly with rosewood paneling and sculpted gray and black marble. The look is very sophisticated, the atmosphere calm and collected in contrast with the chaos outside the front doors.
