This is the residence where the famous author of War and Peace lived between 1882 and 1901. He wrote his last novel, Resurrection, there. Visitors can tour the simple wooden home and garden and see displays of Tolstoy's private effects. (Look for his dumbbells and monogrammed athletic socks.) In the family dining room, you can listen to a rare, scratchy tape recording of Tolstoy's voice. Open Tuesday-Sunday 10 am-5 pm. Ulitsa Lev Tolstogo 9 (near Park Kultury metro station), Moscow.
