This is Moscow's top museum. The gallery houses a lovely collection of icons and Russian classic portraits as well as an impressive number of French Impressionist paintings. The best pieces are from the 19th century, with stunning works by Repin and his contemporaries—watch for the haunting work of Mikhail Vrubel.
