This area is known for its bat guano, which is mined from the many limestone caves in the area. The local Pygmies (Wambute tribe) have seen many tourists before you—although probably not recently—so don't expect a "pure" tribal experience. There's a lodge in the vicinity, near which you'll find the Staircase of Venus Waterfall. 310 mi/500 km northeast of Bukavu.
