Establishments down Iffley Road are just five- to 10-minutes' walk from Gloucester Green but run a bit cheaper than city-center spots. Budget travelers should consider Headington, a pleasant neighborhood 2 mi/3 km east of downtown, which is well connected by public transport. Cowley Road to the southeast is probably the edgiest location (which isn't saying much); however, anything in Blackbird Leys—the large housing projects—should probably be avoided.
