At the bottom of Plaza San Martin across from Retiro Station, this plush adjunct to the Sheraton Buenos Aires Hotel and Convention Center adds 181 high-end lodgings, meeting rooms, an enviable health club named in honor of Neptune, and a 560-space garage to the Sheraton's already considerable presence on Plaza San Martin. The more exclusive Park Tower section also benefits from English-trained butlers and a separate lobby, lounge and check-in. Few locations are better for those in Buenos Aires on business—Park Tower is within walking distance of the banking and services districts and close to Puerto Madero.
Guests here can use the facilities at the Sheraton but not vice-versa. In addition to the gastronomic opportunities at its neighbor, guests here can dine at the revamped Crystal Garden Restaurant with views of the plaza. Another restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and a lobby lounge features a piano.
The aforementioned health club contains two pools, steam baths and sauna, and upgraded private treatment rooms are available for massages and various treatments. Adjacent are two tennis courts,
a putting green and a snack bar. The new gym is fitted with the latest high-tech running and exercise machines, with staffers available round-the-clock.
Boasting Christofle silver and German crystal, the huge, sumptuous Biedermeier-style guest rooms provide the city's most opulent standard accommodations. Fax machines, cellular phones, CD players, Internet access (for a fee) and minibars number among the goodies. The marble baths are as big as some of the Marriott Hotel's standard guest rooms. The presidential suite occupies the whole of the 23rd floor and regularly hosts celebrities and heads of state.
This is an address to impress, and service is as good as it gets. Only the Alvear Palace manages to surpass the sumptuous surroundings here.
