Visitors often see this small village on the Indian border in the southwest corner of Bhutan (along the Torsa River) while traveling the hairpin road north to Paro or Thimphu (it's often the overnight stopping point).
The village is also the place to buy the country's prized first-edition stamps. A short way outside the town is Kharbandi Gompa, a monastery that affords fine views of the Bengal plains of northern India.
50 mi/80 km southeast of Thimphu.
