East Mall and Settlers Way, Freeport. This place is one kilometer from both the airport and the central business district, and eight kilometers from Xanadu Beach. This two-story, peach-colored, red-tile roofed property is neither royal nor a resort, just a midrange motel eking out a living.
Embellished with a few lonely palms, the pool sits at the center, surrounded by administrative offices, an accommodations wing and the restaurant. Large windows and a Romanesque stand with silk tropical flowers strive to lend distinction to the lobby. A few sofa chairs grace the lobby lounge, and a tour desk faces reception. An air-conditioned restaurant serves standard American and Bahamian fare for breakfast and lunch—dinner is served only in high season—and a bleak bar offers a blaring TV.
Onsite recreation is limited to a pool and a shabby tennis court, but a free hourly shuttle runs to the beach and a gift shop sells sundries. A fee-based internet station is in the lobby.
The air-conditioned accommodations feature beige tile floors or teal carpeting, teal drapes, blond furniture, TVs, phones, irons and ironing
boards, one king or two double beds with floral spreads, and tiled combination baths with laminate vanities. The so-called suites have additional small spaces with microwaves, refrigerators, coffeemakers, some dishes and sinks.
This hotel is a clean, comfortable and convenient choice for island business travelers on a budget.
