This museum examines a variety of subjects and includes the area's only planetarium. There are exhibits about Native Americans, an animal hall and adjoining outdoor nature trail, as well as natural-history displays of rock formations, crystals, minerals and fossils. The museum's Challenger Space Center offers hands-on experiences to "crew members" who work on a simulated space flight. Temporary exhibitions, which usually change every six months, are designed to be interactive experiences. Open Tuesday-Friday noon-5 pm, Saturday and Sunday 10 am-5 pm. July and August open daily 10 am-5 pm. Last admission 4:30 pm.
