Santa Fe's high-end hotels are justifiably famous, and most enjoy a central location that allows guests to walk to many of the sights, shops and restaurants. Some relatively reasonable accommodations can be found in the many midrange motels on Cerrillos Road, though they are some distance from the Plaza. In the summer season, prices rise and rooms may be difficult to come by. Our main recommendation is to book early—months in advance for some places. If you go in the winter, inquire whether your room will have a fireplace (many do)—they're nice to have on the typically cool fall and spring evenings, too. In addition to hotels and motels, there's a broad range of bed-and-breakfasts as well as short-term home rentals.
