While the other camps reviewed here are built around water and grasslands, Savute Elephant Camp is a desert area popular with the largest mammals on land. The camp is elevated over a watering hole, floodlit at night, and at some times of the year this is the only water for miles around. As a result, the elephant population right outside the cabin doors can reach 150. This property is more rustic and rugged than its sister camps, but offers a similar mix of top-notch service and fine amenities. <
