This mountain village in the Anti Atlas range has a pink casbah—it's built out of beautiful red granite that seems to change color as the day progresses.
There's not a lot to do, but it's interesting to see how the townsfolk live. Nearby are the mysterious Painted Rocks, a plain of boulders painted red, purple, blue and black by an anonymous French artist. In February, the almond trees blossom. Most people visit Tafraoute as a full-day trip from Taroudant or Agadir.
