Located on a bluff, hovering above the east side of the lake, a short ride north of the town's traffic light, this hostelry is in a restyled 1916 North Woods hunting lodge overflowing with Maine artifacts.
It is the area's, and perhaps the state's, best-known inn, and for good reason. The previous owners made the most of promoting a moose theme without its becoming tiresome or cutesy, and the result is a rustic, but luxurious, lodge.
