The 19-story-high Regent Beijing—located on Jinbao Street a 15-minute walk from the Wangfujing shopping district, Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City—marked its one-year anniversary in December 2007. Its lobby is enormous, with cream-and-beige marble floors and one long glass wall that looks out on a garden. Along this wall are the intimately clustered small tables and chairs of the Crescent Lounge.
