Opened in December 2007, the second Ritz-Carlton in Beijing stands next to its sister hotel, JW Marriott, on Jian Guo Road in the Central Business District. It borders the upscale shopping plaza Shin Kong Place and is 10 minutes by cab from Tiananmen Square and 30 minutes from the Olympic Village under good traffic conditions (the only drawback to its location is a nearby electricity plant with an occasionally smoking chimney.)
