At the southern end of the hotel strip abutting the island's most popular public beach, this austere 15-floor monolith is a favorite with large groups and conventioneers. Formerly a Wyndham hotel, this commercial property is urban rather than urbane, but a recent renovation in the public areas and guest rooms has improved this hotel's overall standings, and the new trumped-up tropical decor has smoothed over some of the rough spots.
