Thomasville provides visitors with a particularly enchanting view of the Old South at its Pebble Hill Plantation (set amid crape myrtle and dogwood trees draped in Spanish moss). And be sure to see the Lapham-Patterson House State Historic Site, a charming cottage in the style of a Victorian seaside resort. Another excellent example of antebellum architecture can be found at Riverview Plantation, 12 mi/19 km south of nearby Camilla (quail hunting takes place at the plantation in season). Thomasville celebrates its roses with a festival in late April each year. Thomasville is 125 mi/200 km south of Macon.
