Turin's prestigious opera house has an annual season that runs September-June. The programs include ballet and other nonoperatic events. Teatro Regio attracts some famous personalities to direct its shows. Hollywood film director William Friedkin has directed a production of Aida there. Book in advance for an English-language backstage tour of the venerable opera house.
