Located in north-central Vermont, this historic village offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore the wealth of architectural styles that were a hallmark of early New England life. The Village of Waterbury displays styles ranging from early Federal to Queen Anne, and Mill Village offers the elaborate Greek Revival and Colonial Revival styles popular during the late 1800s.
There is one absolute must while in the area: a tour of Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Factory in Waterbury Center. Also in Waterbury Center, you can taste Vermont apple cider and learn how it's made at the Cold Hollow Cider Mill. The shop also has a huge inventory of local souvenirs. For bargains, head to the flea market (open weekends during the summer and fall) just north of Waterbury on Route 2. Waterbury is 25 mi/40 km southeast of Burlington.
