Easy to spot from Jamestown Road, this colorful and well-lit museum houses a permanent collection of works by European old masters and contemporary 20th-century artists. The museum also hosts traveling exhibitions that feature works by such artists as Picasso, Georgia O'Keeffe and Winslow Homer. There is a good collection of colonial portraits, too.
