Yukon Territory Hotel Guide

Guide to Yukon Territory Hotels

Although the number of hotels and inns in the Yukon can't compare with that of more populated areas, a suitable range of accommodations is available. Don't expect a wide selection outside of Dawson City and Whitehorse, however. Campgrounds and motels are scattered along the Alaska and Klondike highways (some bed-and-breakfasts can be found along the Klondike). There are four campgrounds on the Dempster Highway and motels in the larger settlements. Expect shared baths in some lodging facilities. In recent years, a small number of new luxury wilderness lodges have added diversity and upscale amenities to comfort-seeking travelers.

Wilderness tours can include stays in rustic cabins (some with housekeeping facilities) or tents. Scores of registered outfitters organize these expeditions. Whatever style of lodging you choose, be sure to book summer stays in January to be sure of getting the dates and places you want.
